What is Cano Palma Biological Station?

Caño Palma Biological Station is a scientific research station in Costa Rica, owned and operated by the non-profit Canadian Organization for Tropical Education and Rainforest Conservation (COTERC).

Caño Palma Biological Station hosts interns, volunteers, and independent researchers. With a focus on tropical education and conservation, we run both long-term monitoring projects and short-term research projects. We study the local flora and fauna of the surrounding ecosystems, including the rainforest, beach, and canal.  For more information on volunteering/internships, please click here.
