Support our unique research programmes
Our Cãno Palma field station provides rare, decades-long data that drives real conservation decisions — in Costa Rica and beyond.
And with your support we can do so much more.
AbouT our research
For 34 years our Caño Palma field station has gained a reputation as one of the most impactful research hubs on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast.
Our long-term datasets track ecosystem change across decades, offering rare insight — published in dozens of peer-reviewed papers — into how tropical ecosystems are responding to human pressures.
This consistency gives us unique scientific credibility. Conservationists worldwide factor our research into their decisions, safe in the knowledge that the results are grounded in robust evidence, not guesswork.
How you can help
With your support, we will…
Extend our current research programmes, to further increase the value of their multi-year datasets.
Expand our activities with new species-monitoring programmes, to shed light on how to protect them and their habitats.
Continue our work with local community leaders, to translate our academic research into tangible on-the-ground results.
